The Flash originators members’ cultural dance of Nkpolu Oroworukwo Rebisi kingdom has ended their annual cultural dance with assurance of sustaining the cultural heritage of the community.
The Chairman of the body, Mr. Anthony Weche gave the assurance while in a chat with Journalists during the annual celebration of the organization at the community town hall Elechi street, Mile 3, Port Harcourt. According to him, “the cultural heritage of our community will not die, because it was in existence before we were born on this planet earth, so we must sustain it and ensure that our younger generation follow suit”.
Mr. Weche who described members cultural club as social dance disclosed that the celebration was an annual ceremony which members invite their neighbours and well wishers to celebrate with them, pointing out that the criteria for membership includes: a member must be a married man, responsible and capable of paying his/her levy, member must not be a thief or have any questionable character rather must be honest and trust worthy adding that there is no discrimination in joining the organization rather every one is free to join. The chairman further disclosed that the hosting of the meeting is on rotation for members in every two weeks while the celebration is annually.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Oroma Nmerukini the matron of the cultural organization commended members of the cultural performance for their initiative in sustaining the culture of the community. Mrs. Nmerukini who is the wife of Chief Azubuike Nmerukini the former Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area who described culture as important as it is the totality of a peoples’ way of life enjoined members of the organization not to relent in sustaining the culture of the community, and made a donation of gift items and fund, on behalf of Nkpolu Oroworukwo Women and Mrs. Blessing Nsiegbe the former House of Representatives member representing PHALGA constituency 2.
Similarly Engr. Perfect Amadi the Vice Chairman of the organization expressed profound gratitude to God for successful celebration.
According to him, nobody died; people came and rejoiced with one another in peace praying that God should lead every one safely.
Dignitaries who graced the ceremony include: Comwell Ihunwo, the patron of the organization, Prince C.K. Amadi and other members of the organization. ###
