His Royal Highness O.O. Odum VIII has declared that he has the absolute right to occupy the prestigious stool of the Amanyanabo of Bakana.
The royal father who stated this in a media chat at his palace in Bakana, last week, said that he gallantly fought for the dynasty of Odum, “when so many people are afraid to do that and are busy sleeping.
The Amanyanabo of Bakana said that Odum kingship is not vacant, that he is the one who is currently occupying it. The monarch called on the true sons and daughters of Bakana both at home and in Diaspora not to identify with anyone who is parading himself as the Amanyanabo of Bakana.
Odum VIII stated categorically that he is the authentic king of Bakana and besides him no one exists. The paramount ruler maintained that no litigation is pending in court concerning the kingship tussle in Bakana, adding that all cases pertaining the Amanyanabo tussle have been disposed by court in his favour.
He warned the trouble makers, especially Captain I.I Braide rtd in the community to desist forthwith, from their destructive acts saying that no community prospers in the atmosphere of wrangling and continuous strife King Odum VIII of Bakana said that Captain I.I Braide rtd has no right to claim the stool, and traced his (Captain Braide rtd) traditional origin to Awara in Igboland.
The king of Bakana said that nobody should tarnish his hard earned image and reputation, adding he has a very clean and impeccable record while in civil service (Health Management Board), X-Ray department where he served for thirty-five (35) years, without any official blemish.
Odum VIII noted that while delivering his judgment in suit No. DHC/38/2014, Hon. Justice S.O. Benson cautioned Captain I.I Braide rtd and one Engr. Okiye Evans that they are not capable of representing or speaking the mind of the Odum royal house. ###
