Creek Road Traders: Why Are We Still Selling On The Road

Traders at Creek Road Market have made their position known to the government of Rivers State under the leadership of Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, that they will not stop selling on the road until the road is reconstructed for them.

The traders made this known to The Newswriter through their chairman, Mr. Kamange Michael while chatting in his office in Port Harcourt.

According to him, The Creek Road Traders Welfare is on the road marketing their wares because Rivers State government has abandoned the road hence the traders are selling on the middle of the road.

Michael pointed out that if the road is fixed every trader will decently sell his or her wares in the stores. It will even make better arrangement for customers to park their cars and connections in buying goods at their will, he added.

He debunked the insinuation that the market is not safe, he rather disclosed that there is high powered security network in the market that if someone tries anything funny, he or she will be caught and reprimanded within 5 minutes.

He urged customers to come to Creek Road to shop for their goods as there is nowhere in Port Harcourt that goods are more cheaper than Creek Road market , adding that Creek Road market supplies the more fresh fishes in Port Harcourt than any other market. However, the economy determines what the market looks like in purchasing any item now in Port Harcourt.

He appealed to Governor Wike to fix the Creek Road Market and what is known today as Aba line will no longer exist, as every trader will give space for customers to park their car and shop for their goods.

He commended the governor on his laudable achievements on road rehabilitation within few months in office, assuring that if there should be re-run election, Wike will still win as his market traders will warmly vote as they did earlier. ###
