The Special Adviser to the governor of Rivers State on Niger Delta Development Commission Affairs, Chief Barr. Aribitonye Mohammed Okiri has indicated his interest to encourage budding sporting talents in Niger Delta. He made this declaration while chatting with The Newswriter sports in his office last week. Chief Okiri is a seasoned grassroots sportsman who thinks of helping the youths in the grassroots level to grow with their sporting talent. He had been a captain of the famous unique university of Port Harcourt football team, a reliable coach who coached the 2007 Rivers State House of Assembly members on physical exercise and football. Twice chairman of the Premier International Allstars Football Club of Port Harcourt. He had used his experience as master of physical education in the university to assist lots of youths and aspiring grassroots football talents to hit limelight. It’s then not surprising that the governor of the state appointed him to advise him on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Affairs, knowing that, when you talk about Niger Delta, the youths are the lifewire of the region. In his good nature and benevolence, he always liked to associate himself in advising and assisting youths talent to grow, particularly football. The youthful and vibrant special Adviser to the governor on Niger Delta Development Commission Affairs will certainly have his hands full as the youths believed in him because of his unassuming down to earth attitude and approach in turning things around for sporting talent in the state. Though, he is not serving in the sports ministry, his advice on youths sporting talent will go a long way to help alleviate the suffering of sporting talent in the grassroots grow, using his good office as special adviser to the governor on Niger Delta Development Commission Affairs.
