The People and Chiefs of Bille kingdom in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State have issued an urgent ultimatum to the Federal Government for immediate evacuation of the troop of Nigerian Army from the kingdom. The people issued this ultimatum through the chairman, Bille Kingdom Community, Development Committee, Asatubo Igbamibo Kemuel while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt on the unprecedented invasion and siege of the most peaceful and stable kingdom in Rivers State. According to the CDC chairman of Bille kingdom, Mr. Kemuel on Wednesday 2nd December, 2015, at about 12:00 noon, some troops of Nigeria Army numbering about 100 soldiers invaded the town with sophisticated arms without consulting the leadership of the Community. However, what the people experienced was that the soldiers were being shown directions to follow in Bille town by a strange masked bearded young man dressed in Army camouflage who helped the soldiers to beat up several persons who ran into them. He also explained that these soldiers had invaded into desecrated shrines and other sacred places, as well as breaking into and damaging private living home and hotels of individuals in the community. Mr. Kemuel revealed that after their successful operation in the community the chiefs approached the squad leader captain Timothy who said that they are in the community base on the order from the above following allegation of illegal bunkering activities that exist in Bille kingdom, Okrika and other communities in Rivers State. However, the Bille kingdom wants to know if the reason of illegal bunkering given by the Nigeria Army is anything to go by. The question whether illegal bunkering takes place in the shrines, private homes and hotels or sacred places of the community? Also the invasion of Elder Joshua Huttons, an old man of 80years by the soldiers was he also involved in illegal bunkering? He maintained that Bille town is a peaceful community which the spurious allegations given by Nigeria Army as a reason of invasion of the community are false. He therefore call on the federal government led by the President Muhammdu Buhari, the chief of Army staff and other relevant authorities to call the Army to order. Also the immediate evacuation of the troop in Bill town, and the four persons arrested be released immediately with out condition. He also requested that the Army should apologize to those who were battered and whose homes and properties are damages. ###
