Indications have emerged that top ranking officers and members of the Andoni chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have perfected plans to dump the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the area, following what they described as high-handedness and stingy nature of the CTC chairman Hon Ere Victor.
The aggrieved members according to reports reaching The Newswriter newsroom who have been secretly meeting with leadership of the APC in the area are those allegedly said to be marginalized in the scheme of things particularly in the area of appointment which they felt could swing towards them.
The Newswriter source revealed that those on the top list of intending decampees include some of the leaders in wards 9,10, 11, and 3 respectively, but the schedule time for the cross over event could not be ascertained, since according to the source they are among others waiting for the nomination of commissionership candidate for Andoni.
Another reason for the planned defection if the reports reaching our newsroom is anything to go by, is the allegation that the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and representative of Andoni State constituency in the RSHA, Rt. Hon. Ikuny-Owaji Ibani have not only neglected the people, party but the electorate for not convening the party’s meeting, since the election petition tribunal judgement.
The aggrieved PDP members said the essence of such meeting would be to intimate the party stalwarts on development arising from election petition tribunal which the speaker has since refused to do.
Simply, the aggrieved members noted that failure of the speaker, RSHA to convene a meeting of Andoni chapter of the party was a sign that they are not in safe hands and not in the right place they used to be, hence considered defection as an alternative for them.
Efforts to reach either speaker of the State Assembly or leadership of the PDP as well as the CTC chairman for comments proved abortive as the council boss was not taking his calls. ###
