Twenty-eight Political Parties in Rivers State have commended Governor Nyesom Wike for living up to his campaign promises.
Speaking on Monday under the aegis of Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC, Secretary of the body, Mr Reuben Favour, said the parties were impressed with Governor Wike’s performance so far.
Commending the governor for appointing members of other political parties into the newly constituted caretaker committees in the various local government areas, Favour said the governor has given room to every Rivers indigene to contribute meaningfully to the government of the state.
The political parties further commended the governor for encouraging the judiciary to thrive as an independent arm of government.
They said: “The judiciary which was in comatose for over a year under the immediate past administration is now free from executive emasculation as lawyers and judges are serving the course of justice. In addition, Governor Wike has removed the legislature from executive encumbrances, interference and intimidation. All the three arms of government are working with absolute autonomy and in synergy, too. This, by our reckoning, is the governor’s idea of democracy and good governance.
“It is important to state that Governor Wike makes the security of lives and property of all Rivers people and residents a topmost priority, hence, the acquisition of 64 Toyota Hilux Security Patrol Vans fitted with modern security gadgets for law enforcement agencies.”
All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state is not part of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC.
