Creek Road Market: Man Escapes Lynching

A middle age man, simply identified as Ike had miraculously escape death for allegedly stolen dry fish worth two hundred and fifty thousand naira at the popular Creek Road Market last weekend as he was beaten by group of angry men who caught him following the revelation of a security in charge of the area in the said market.

Mr. Ike who was accused by the security officer as a terror in the market had however confessed to the crime, said he sold the fishes just to satisfy his hunger for cocaine which he was addicted to.

The thief who was looking for any means of rescue further confessed selling the fishes to an unnamed woman at Sangana Street, Mile One Market who he claimed was always patronizing him whenever his evil deals are mature.

Meanwhile, one Miss Ngozi who claimed that her goods were stolen said she has lost stockfish worth of hundreds of thousand which is her only means of survival.

Another trader known as Mama Mary shouted “God I am finished, they have killed me, the thieves had stolen my six baskets of pepper, my hope is lost what will I do next”.

However, the traders whose goods were stolen and eyes filled with tears called on the government to come to their aid as the incessant robbery activities in the market is on the high side due to insecurity. ###
