A socio-political organization known as True Rivers Mandate, TRM has rolled out nineteen (19) reasons why the governorship candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the April 11, 2015 gubernatorial election in Rivers State, Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside cannot become a governor.
This was contained in a statement issued in Port Harcourt by the group and made available to newsmen on Monday. The group advised Dakuku to forget about his governorship ambition.
The TRM faulted the verdict of the governorship election petition tribunal that nullified the April 11, gubernatorial election in Rivers State, describing it as a judiciary rascality.
The statement which was jointly signed by Comrade John Okorie, President, Mr. Baba Okalata, secretary and Pastor Gabriel Oruye, PRO, the TRM warned that any attempt to install APC government in Rivers State will be vehemently resisted, “if not we will spill our blood to prevent political vultures from the north to come into our State”.
The True Rivers Mandate maintained that no amount of threats will change the mind of the Rivers people, “because on April 11, they voted massively for the PDP government, they knew that APC and Muhammadu Buhari have nothing to offer to the Rivers people”.
The group further warned Buhari and ex-governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to stay away from the internal affairs of the state to avoid unpleasant consequences.
The group noted that Rivers State belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and not All Progressives Congress, APC, adding that Nyesom Wike has achieved so much for Rivers people within his short stay in office.
The TRM had enumerated some reasons why Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside cannot become a governor of Rivers State. The reasons are:
(1) Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside is an offshoot of the corrupt Amaechi’s government.
(2) Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside is bereft of ideas on planning and development of the State.
(3) The All Progressives Congress, APC is not a popular party in Rivers State.
(4) APC is made up of corrupt and non performing politicians.
(5) Unpopular among the Rivers people
(6) Performed below expectation while in the Federal House of Representatives
(7) Non-completion of several road projects as a Commissioner for Works in Rivers.
(8) Hon Dakuku does not have the political will and muscles to contest an election with Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. He is a timid politician.
(9) Being sponsored by Amaechi, a man that is causing crisis and problems in Rivers State and the entire Nigeria.
(10) Buhari’s administration has failed Nigerians in every aspect of national life.
(11) Hon. Dakuku does not have respect for the traditional chieftaincy institution like ex-governor Chibuike Amaechi, his political mentor.
(12) Due to his affiliation with Amaechi, a man that has no regard for elders and Rivers people.
(13) Hon. Dakuku was part and parcel of Amaechi’s administration that closed down courts and Rivers State House of Assembly
(14) Even if INEC conduct election ten (10) times, APC and Hon. Dakuku will still fail, because Wike is more popular than Dakuku.
(15) Buhari does not mean well for Rivers people
(16) Dakuku is not a true Ijaw son
(17) Amaechi, the political godfather of Dakuku is not also a true Ijaw son, that is the reason he is always insulting Ijaw elders including ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
(18) Amaechi and Dakuku are birds of the same feather, therefore will act the same way and manner if given the opportunity to serve.
(19) Wike has won the hearts of the Rivers people.
The group also slammed Amaechi for siphoning billions of naira to fund Buhari’s campaign.
According to TRM, this money is meant for the development of the State.###
