Tribunal Judgement: Kalabari IYC Warns Youths Against Violence

The Kalabari chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has called on the youths of Kalabari kingdom not to do anything that will cause problems in the state.
The chairman of the IYC Kalabari Se Ikpangi, Comrade Sobrasua Odum made the call in a press briefing while reacting swiftly to the tribunal ruling that nullified the governorship election in the state.
Prince Odum who expressed worry over the ruling said it is not in the best interest of the state.
The Kalabari IYC boss appealed to the youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to ignite trouble as the result of the nullification of the election. He advised them to be calm and avoid violence that will throw the state into crisis.
Prince Odum expressed confidence on Governor Wike’s administration, stating that within a hundred days in office he has done much. The Kalabari IYC Chief highlighted some of Governor Wike’s achievements which include: road construction, payment of salary, security, employment, maintenance work at East-West-Ogbakiri-Degema-Abonema road, completion of RSUST Law faculty building/moot court hall amongst others.
Prince Odum enjoined the youths to stand firm to support the government of Chief Ezenwo Wike, pointing out that Wike remains the governor of Rivers State.
He expressed hope that Wike will come out victoriously in the Court of Appeal, saying that the tribunal judgment was faulty therefore cannot stand the test of time.
Prince Odum further appealed to youths of the Kalabari region to shun cultism, sea piracy, and other social vices, adding that committing these crimes cannot do them any good. He raised alarm over the increasing rate of sea piracy in Bakana creeks and called on the security agencies to beef up security within and around the area to check the menace. ###
