The Patriotic Forum of Nigeria (PATFON) has recently held its Youth Emerge Summit 2015 at the Society of Engineering Complex, Port Harcourt.
The theme of the summit was tagged “The importance of Skills Development in Nigeria Youths for National Advancement”.
According to the Founder/ National Coordinator of the PATFON, Amb Stephen Granville in his welcome address said PATFON Youth Development Organization is a vision to bring young visionary, patriotic and non-violent youths together to provide voluntary and patriotic services for the people and to contribute positively towards community development. Adding that when youths are empowered with skills, they do not need to seek for paid employment because such youth can stand on his/her own and be useful to the society.
Speaking, the Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Justice (Mrs.) Harriba Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack maintained that youths should identify their skills and annex it with their passion to excel in life.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the occasion, Amb. Granville pointed out “our youths should not make the same mistakes we made”, this programme is set up to reach all kinds of youths not minding the tribe, background and colour.
When asked how the organization is being funded, he said “we are career civil servants, we tasked ourselves, we don’t have support from anywhere. We contribute from our personal purse.
Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of award to dignitaries, dance and drama. ###
