Elder Statesman, Senior Advocate of Niger Delta (SAND), and also Agitator and Establisher of Oil Derivation formular with Alhaji Shehu Shagari in 1981, Rev. (Dr.) Sokari Soberekon has tasked President Buhari to make Amaechi Federal Government Minister of Transport, if he is really sincere to take over the uncompleted Monorail Project of Rivers State, and make it a Federal Project.
According to the roving parliamentarian and strongman of Oil Rivers State, to make it serve as Federal Monorail service around Niger Delta States. The icon lamented that since 15th January, 1956 uptill now, no Niger Delta State enjoys railway service. But the oil produced by Niger Delta provides the Railway Service to other parts of Nigeria.
Soberekon gave reasons why he tasked President Buhari to make Amaechi Minister of Transport, because, he (Amaechi) has lots of Jet Manufacturing firms hence he bought a private Jet for himself while in office; with his connections, he can give us a new Nigerian Airways which will become a leading Airline in Africa.
The Monorail project is of two lanes or tracks, one head was at the right linking East-West Road to Ogoni in Rivers State, Akwa Ibom State and Cross River State of Niger Delta while on the left run through Choba, Ahoada, Mbiama to Bayelsa State to Delta State of Niger Delta. While one was actually abandoned. However, If Amaechi is not made a Minister of Transport; all these may stop the succession of Niger Delta.
Amaechi is the only qualified one to handle that because, he started the Monorail project in Nigeria and should be given a chance to be a Minister as to extend the Monorail project to other States of the Federation as change is of the essence.
The sage urged all Niger Deltans and Rivers in particular to forgive Amaechi, for he has earlier apologized on a Television program, let him be a Minister. His ministerial nomination is for good.
To the youths of Niger Delta, Soberekon appealed that they should not vandalized oil pipelines but give President Buhari a chance to rule Nigeria.
The strongman of old Rivers State pointed out that Niger Delta is still on focus and maintained that if the oppression of Niger Delta is not stopped, and Resource Control is not granted or approved for 50% tax free of oil derivation, Niger Delta will pull out of Nigeria, stressing that Niger Delta has enjoyed Amnesty so much, for fighting for their rights.
The Federal Government can pull off the Amnesty and Niger Delta can fight without weapons as M.K. Gandhi of India fought the British Government to get freedom.
We are not cowards “I Rev. (Sand) Dr. Sokari Soberekon is not a member of any political party, I belong to Jesus Christ; the saviour of the oppressed.”
He further said Port Harcourt Airport should be named after Shehu Shagari Airport and that of Abacha Road should be named Sokari Soberekon IBB Road should be named Ademiral Fingesi Road. Ademiral Okujaku, Ademiral Fingesi and Captain Long John Ablom are all renowned Okirika Sons and Captain Elechi Amadi the only Ikwerre man they have contributed greatly for the state and the nation should be recognized by reflecting their names on roads in the state.
I will sue Governor Nyesom Wike if he invests any kobo in the monorail project in the state because it is a fruitless venture according to him he would have sued the former President Jonathan to stop the taxation on oil derivation but unfortunately when I contracted a notable (SAN) Senior Advocate of Nigeria he turned down my action.###
