The Kalabari chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC said that it has strong belief that the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike must emerge victoriously in the Election Petition Tribunal at the end of the day.
The chairman of the Kalabari IYC, Comrade Prince Sobrasua Odum made the assertion during a telephone chat with our correspondent in Port Harcourt on Monday. He expressed confidence in the Nigerian judiciary system, adding that all the evidences tendered before the tribunal shown that there was an election in Rivers State and Wike is sure of victory.
Comrade Odum said that the Kalabari IYC will soon mobilize and come on the streets in Port Harcourt to celebrate Wike’s victory in advance. “We know that Wike will win”, Comrade Odum said.
The Kalabari IYC boss who passed vote of confidence on Wike’s administration, applauded the Governor for piloting the affairs of the state effectively.
Comrade Odum frowned at the insecurity situation in Bakana, a coastal community in the Degema Local Government Area. He called on the state government and relevant authorities to establish a Police Post and a JTF unit in the area to check the activities of hooliganism.
The Kalabari IYC boss who pledged the loyalty of the youths to Wike’s administration, maintained that Bakana community needs peace.
He called on the government to provide all necessary amenities that will develop the community.
He had earlier condemned the attitude of some persons who are doing secret things to cause chieftaincy problems in Bakana.
He noted that there is no kingship tussle in Bakana, pointing out the court has ruled and declared HRH O.O. Odum as the undisputable Amanyanabo of Bakana.
His words, “some persons want to cause trouble, know that the court has ruled in this matter, nobody has come out to fault it”. Comrade Odum appealed to the indigenes of Bakana both at home and dispora to give their total support to the indefatigable leadership of HRH O.O.Odum to place Bakana on the fast lane of development.
The Kalabari IYC chairman enjoined the youths of the community not to allow themselves to be used by some unscrupulous elements that want to turn Bakana upside down, adding the youths should be focused, and channel all their strengths and energies to profitable ventures. ###
