Saraki’s Travail: Prove Your Innocence, Opinion leader Tells Buhari

Muhammadu-Buhari-NKAn elder statesman, opinion leader and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the Andoni extraction in Rivers State, His Highness, Elijah Elebe Ogodo has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, to prove his innocence in the ongoing code of conduct travail of the Senate President, Dr. Saraki.

Chief Elijah Ogodo who was speaking to The Newswriter political correspondent in Port Harcourt on several issues of national development also accused President Buhari of having hands in the travail of the Senate President Bukola Saraki, saying that if Buhari who may deny the fact seem so confident, he should order the office of Attorney General to apply the big stick in restraining the code of conduct bureau from furthering the matter.

The premier of Ngo town in Andoni Local government who was visibly angry with the Saraki’s travail recalled that Saraki’s case was twelve years ago and wondered why the obvious certificate issue against the president should not be reopened for probe since it is a pre-election matter.

He also called on the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, to urgently intervene by advising their brother, Buhari to allow the fragile peace of Nigeria to remain, adding that President should implore the big stick to unite the country than drumming for its session.

On the 55th Independence anniversary of Nigeria, Chief Elijah who was a proud product of the late Obafemi Awolowo school of thought said Nigeria is yet to attain independence since the citizens at the grassroots are yet to understand and feel the essence of independence other than economic, political, social suppression and above all political and economic corruption.

Buttressing his claims, Chief Elijah Ogodo   revealed that Nigeria has failed to produce and provides social welfare packages for its unemployed citizenry as witnessed in numerous independence countries.

While calling for the overall restructuring of entire system, Ogodo posited that at 55 Nigeria has barely achieved nothing other than corruption, religious bigotry, killings and suppression and wondered why the democratic and National Assembly are unable to create a single state rather dwelling on those created through the fiat of the Army.

Speaking further on the review of the democratic and Nigeria systems, the elderstateman noted that for Nigeria to attain full independence the future of children must be looked into as against its submergence at the moment, where young school leavers roam the streets without job.

The PDP chieftain decride the failure of the present administration led by Muhammadu Buhari to think of implementation of the 2014 confab report, noting that attaining and celebrating independence is far from taking presidential salute and match pass. ###
