Legislators of the Rivers State House of Assembly have thrown their weight behind Bro. Felix Obuah the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) for his effort in restoring Port Harcourt to its garden city status.
In a chat with journalists during the last Saturday’s monthly sanitation exercise in Port Harcourt, Hon. Marshall Stanley Uwom the deputy speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly who led other members of the House to joined Felix Obuah’s team to monitor the sanitation exercise said their aim was to show solidarity in the excellence performance, Felix Obuah is doing in the state and pledged to give him their necessary support to enable him achieve his desired goal of ensuring that Rivers State regain its past glory of the most cleaned state in the federation.
Similarly, in a chat with journalists the lawmaker representing Ogu-Bolo Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Evans Bipi expressed his gratitude to Felix Obuah for his excellence performance, in cleaning the city of Port Harcourt within two months of his administration, also expressed satisfaction with the turn out of members of the public attributing it to the increased enlightenment the Bro. Obuah led RIWAMA created on the importance of cleanliness.
Earlier in his speech, Bro. Felix Obuah condemned dumping of refuse in the drainages and gutters in the city of Port Harcourt and its environment, warned the public to desist from such act or face the wrath of sanitation law.
According to him, the agency would also terminate the contract of any contractor or service provider who fails to perform his or her duties, pointing out that the agency is doing its best to ensure that Port Harcourt retains its garden status and enjoined everyone to assist the government under the leadership of governor Nyesom Wike to ensure clean environment in the state.
He lauded Governor Wike for setting up flood rehabilitation committee in the state and commended the lawmakers and other officers of the government including journalists who participated in the sanitation exercise. ###
