The Character Award presentation which took place at the church Headquarters in Abuloma Rivers State on the 18th August, 2015, was witnessed by Pastor [Mrs.) Rosemary Miekumor Perelade, Pastor Kio F. Miller [DSP), Pastor Olulu Johnbull and the other members of the church.
The event was declared open after an opening prayer by the General Overseer of the church, Character Rev. (DR) Godspower E. Perelade followed by an opening remark by the President General of the League of Character Club Nigeria, Character High Chief Eze (Eld.) Christian A.Y KoKoriko (Tourist) who came in company of the Admin secretary of the organization, Character Comrade Chinedu C. Egbule, Director Women Affairs, Character Chief [Mrs.) Victoria A. Kokoriko among others.
In his remarks, the President General recounted some of his input when he was in Rivers State Civil service before he was called by nature to serve humanity. He further added that late Character HRH Harold Dappa Biriye (CON) was honoured with the same Character Award in 1994 and a Soccer cup was donated in his honour for the Youth Club sides of South-South Zone which this year 2015 will mark the 21st Edition.
In the same vein, the President General defined the League of Character Clubs Nigeria as a Non-governmental Organization solely aimed at Character molding and promotion of peaceful co-existence in the society, and advised that people should re-discover themselves to complement God’s purpose for mankind. After Presenting the Character Award, the President General immediately appointed Character Rev. (DR) Godspower E. Perelade as a Patron of the Organization and assured him that the organization would always partner with the church.
In response, Character Rev. (DR) Godspower E. Perelade Joyfully appreciated the League of Character Clubs Nigeria for the honour done to him, adding that “one with God is sufficient; knowledge can be acquired while wisdom is from above”
Referring to the Slogan of the Organization “CHARACTER IN ACTION”, the General overseer said “faith is action faith without action is dead” He maintained that nothing good comes easy and therefore advised the President General of the organization to always call God in prayers for divine intervention. He blessed the President General and members of the organization assuring them of his continuous prayers and support.
In a closing remark, Character High Chief Eze (Eld.) Christian A.Y Kokoriko (Tourist) informed the Character Award Recipient that he would be the Spiritual Father on the Grand Finale of late Character HRH Harold Dappa Biriye Annual Soccer cup competition organized by the League of Character Clubs Nigeria for the Youth Club sides of South-South Zone coming up in November 2015 at Shark’s stadium Port Harcourt. ###
