RSIC Admonishes Hajj Pilgrims To Be Good Rivers Ambassadors

The Rivers State Islamic Council has admonished the 2015 Pilgrims to the Holy land, Mecca, for the Hajj exercise to be good ambassadors of the State.
Secretary-General of the Council, Alhaji Daud Pennuel who gave the admonition at the Council Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt, where successful nominees gathered for take off preparation, urged them to reciprocate the good gestures of their sponsor, the Rivers State government by being fervent in prayers for peace and progress of the State and remain law-abiding while in the Holy land as to avoid bringing disgrace to the State.
Alhaji Daud use the event to appreciate the State Government, the Legislatures and those in leadership positions who remembered the Muslim in the State for the 2015 Hajj exercise.
The Rivers Islamic Council Secretary, further called on leaders who forget their constituencies and people to have a rethink, describing it as a bad omen to forget people, since charity according to him must begin at home.
He however, pleaded with those not nominated to be patient assuring that Allah willing they would join in next year’s exercise.
Commenting on the importance of Hajj, Daud said Hajj is a spiritual exercise that must be performed with all sense of focus and purity, while wishing successful nominees Allah’s blessing that would produce rapid development of the State.
According to him, “Hajj is for repentance and we pray that they go and return as better citizens for the country, Nigeria, adding that Hajj is not for the unserious persons.###
