As the appointment of Sunday Oliseh raises controversies and comments from the soccer family about the expectation of Oliseh’s performance, Oliseh’s teammate and coach of Nigeria U-23 coach, Samson Siasia has said that Oliseh will speak for himself.
The nations dream team U-23 coach made this remark while speaking to sports journalists before his game with the Congolese U-23 dream team at Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt.
Siasia said, Oliseh is a Nigerian and also played for the country so he knows what he is to face. Let him come and see what we are seeing”.
According to him, it is easy to talk on radio or television far away from the country. In the same vein, it is very different to come over and take a job as a Nigerian coach working in the country with your people. Let Oliseh also see what we are seeing or have seen as indigenous coach.
“Oliseh is a Nigerian let him also come and face his people. “ I think he could withstand all because Nigeria is not new to him. He had live and played here so he should know his people more than any foreigner, Siasia said.
Meanwhile, the former skipper of the Super Eagles has been paid 3 months salary ahead before not starting the job he has been contracted. Oliseh has the mandate to quality the Super Eagle to the next AFCON competition. ###
