Worried by unnecessary criticism and rumour allegedly fueling by the former governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside and his political associates to distract the administration of Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the youths of Opobo kingdom have declared the ex-gubernatorial candidate of Rivers APC persona non grata in Opobo land.
The Opobo youths made this known in an exclusive chat with this weekly on Monday. The youths who spoke through their leader, Comrade Ibim Legg-Jack described the attitude of Dakuku towards the Rivers State government under Ezenwo Wike as “Evil”, saying that Dr. Dakuku has no good intention for the state.
The youths of Opobo kingdom said that Governor Wike has performed well within the short period in office. According to Comrade Legg-Jack the unfounded, baseless and nonsense allegations frequently level against the incumbent Governor of Rivers State by Dakuku and his cohorts are satanic plots to shift the governor’s attention from embarking on laudable projects that will put smiles on the faces of the Rivers sons and daughters.
The youths of Opobo kingdom exonerated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from rigging the last general elections in the state. They maintained that the PDP won the elections landslide, recalled that the PDP’s electoral victory was as a result of Wike’s aggressive political electioneering campaign across the twenty-three (23) LGAs of the State.
Comrade Legg Jack slammed Dakuku for taking the electoral matters to the election petition tribunal, saying the APC in Rivers State failed woefully during the election.
For purpose of development, the youths pleaded with Dakuku to withdraw his election case in the tribunal to avoid problems, hence he would not be allowed to visit any part of Opobo kingdom.
Comrade Legg-Jack had earlier told this weekly that, Dakuku performed below the expectation of the People of Opobo while in government. They observed that Dr. Dakuku did not mean well for the Opobo kingdom, adding that his behaviour does not exhibit the true son of Opobo kingdom. ###
