Girl education has always been a debatable topic over the years, but the fact now remains that there is nothing to be debated about it anymore. Girl education has become a necessity, more than being important, for every country because it balances the level, or establish equality between men and women in a country. This equality level is very important in a developing world like ours, where we need so much labour, man force and intellect, which was thrown away by not educating girl the child. Not many realize that there is so much potential which is let gone just due to the fact that a lot of parents till date, do not believe in educating their girl child or sending their girl children to school, because they are so busy nurturing and spending money on the male child, which is not only wrong but it is a clear form of injustice done to human life. A lot of countries have made it a compulsion for a girl child to be educated to any in level. We need to realize it ourselves that girl education is not only beneficial for the family, but also help and facilitates the growth of a nation. Let’s look at some of the reasons why girl education is important and why we should given attention to it.
Decrease infant mortality rate: Uneducated women are not only mistreated but also cannot take proper care of their own self because of the lack of awareness and understanding. Therefore, it is important to educate girl children so that they are capable of taking care of themselves and taking care of their babies. Uneducated women suffer from a lot of complications due to lack of knowledge or awareness which end them up giving birth to dead babies. Thus, to eliminate this problem it is necessary that women be educated, so that they can take care of themselves.
Reduce danger during child delivery: Increased education levels among women help in decreasing the death rate of babies of a country, because a lot of mothers and women die due to complications in delivery, and improper health because they are completely not aware of what to do due to their lack of education. Women who are educated could help improving the health care systems of the country, and thus ensuring that women don’t die of such health complications in future. It is what you have knowledge of that help you in time of trouble. When a woman don’t have knowledge of how to manage herself during pregnancy she will be endanger in so many ways.
Improve socio-economic growth: Educated women have a greater chance of escaping poverty, living healthier and more productive lives, and raising the standard of living for their children, families, and communities. Apart from taking good care of the family, women once educated would excel in a lot of fields such as teaching, medicine, lawyer, journalism etc and using their leadership skills for political agenda. Also, the malnutrition levels go down when girl children are educated and employed. They no longer live one side income life. They have chain of income because they can be engaged in more than one income.
Ease child marriages: Child marriage is not only wrong but it is against the law. Though this danger is supported in a lot of backward countries, child marriage is something which is definitely a punishable offence, and which takes place even today because of the poor education levels among girl children. Female children are not sent to school and not imparted education but just married off in the greed for money and property. Therefore, educating them will give them a voice for themselves to not indulge in such punishable activities by the law, thus cutting down the number of child marriages. Education helps them to marriage when they are better able to bear and care for their children
Decrease in poverty level: If girl children are sent to school to get their basic education, they can be employed in jobs, probably not a high salaried job but at least a job which takes care of their basic necessities of life. Because girl child education is not supported, a large portion of female population remains uneducated and unemployed, and thus the poverty level keeps rising due to generational un-education. Good education will help a girl child have a good job for future investment neither in her children or otherwise.
Reduce domestic violence or partial slavery: Because of the lack of education, women find it difficult to fight back and act for themselves. The rise in domestic and social violence caused to women are basically the outcome of girl children not being educated, and due to the lack of awareness and understanding which is experienced among uneducated women, this problem continues to exist in the society. But if the girl child is educated, she will stand up for her right.
Social equality: Social equality level of a country is very important in determining the development level of an economy. An equality level and line needs to be established and maintain between men and women, so that they work together for the nation and are at partners in all sectors of life. Girl education would help lay a foundation for this equality, and thus not only help the country grow but help the citizens of the nation too.
Aid women leadership qualities: Women can be trained to inculcate good leadership qualities, which can only be possible if they are educated and sent to school at least for the basic education programs. Educated women are capable of bringing about a transformation in the political status of a country, and a less corruptive one to be more precise. Government parties, meetings and other issues handled by educated women can reap more benefits, thus improving the political condition of a nation. When girl is educated she can be an advocate which in turn promotes a better representative, effective government.
Reduce militant support: In a lot of countries where there is high militancy tension and terrorism, uneducated women get into supporting such practices and become the informant of militant groups since they can be sent to anywhere without suspicion. But if girl children can be educated and helped to get into proper jobs, they will stay away from such acts and contribute positively to their countries but because of illiteracy level among women, the militant groups in countries took advantage and brainwash them, thus such women are pushed into supporting and working for such groups, and as a result support terrorism.
Increase education level: An African proverb says, “If we educate a boy, we educate one person. If we educate a girl, we educate a family – and a whole nation.” By sending a girl to school, she is far more likely to ensure that her children also receive an education. As many claim, investing in a girl’s education is investing in a nation Educating girl child is beneficial because it increases the education level of a nation, more the children are educated the better and brighter is the future for the family and for the country. Because education level determines at what level the country actually is and determines the growth of the country, it is important to also focus on girl education to level up this line of education. It brings down the illiteracy level to a great extent.
Aid Birth Control: Educated women tend to have fewer and healthier babies. They give birth to babies, they feel can be properly care and trained. But illiterate women feel babies come from God and as a result they can breed the way they want without proper care and training at such jeopardize the society by untrained children causing havoc here there.
