The general overseer of the Bible holiness Church Rev. (Dr.) Godwin Ogbuji was presented with a Character Award by the League of Character Clubs Nigeria on Sunday during a Church service at the Church Auditorium in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the event, the President General of the League of Character Clubs Nigeria, Character High Chief Eze (Elder) Christian A. Y. Kokoriko (Tourist) who came in company with Chief Mrs. Victoria A. Kokoriko (Director of Women Affairs) with some executive members of the club while referring to the Church Service sermon “The Strong Hold” he said the people perish for lack of knowledge, adding that except they portray a character worthy of emulation they might not liberate themselves from traditional and selfish delusion which had become a barrier to humanity.
He further explained that the league of character clubs Nigeria is aimed at character moulding and promotion of peaceful co-existence in the society, adding that the beauty of every Man is the Character, therefore “if character is lost everything is lost”.
While presenting the Award, Character Chief Christian A.Y. Kokoriko (Tourist) stated that the recipient, Character Rev. (Dr) Godwin Ogbuji had made positive moral standard, Peace and Unity and therefore deserved to be honoured.
In his response, Character Rev. (Dr.) Godwin Ogbuji who is also the Divisional Chairman of Olu-Obasanjo Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), thanked God for the honour done to him by the League of character clubs Nigeria, adding that he did not expect it but for the divine will of God who ordained him for the selfless Gospel.
Speaking further from his position as the Chairman PRCR Olu-Obasanjo Police Division, he expressed delight that the public had been made to understand that Police are their friends “and therefore should give useful information aimed at promoting security in the State. He also enumerated some of the work PCRC had done in the division to promote their cordial relationship with the Police. He further appreciated his wife for standing by him, adding that “for every successful Man there is a Woman”.
In the same vein Character Rev. (Dr.) Godwin Ogbuji commended the President General and members of the League of Character Clubs Nigeria for their wonderful contributions in the society urging them to do more. He also called on Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to move Nigeria forward adding that Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) did his own part as a person. Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the Character Award to Rev. (Dr.) Godwin Ogbuji.
