3SC Ajayi Junior Rescues Nig U-23 Congolese U-23 Defeat

3Sc Ajayi Oluwafemi junior on 19th of July being Sunday rescued the Nigeria U-23 dream team 6 from defeat as he scored 2 goals for Nigeria to escape         the Congolese U-23 defeat, at the 40,00 sitting capacity stadium of Adokiye Amiesiemaka stadium.

Coach Siasia langerly home based constituted side was more at home as the team created lots of scoring chances without converting even one in the 1st half of the game.

At 15:57pm the two teams came out for official line up and finally took the kick-off at 16:07pm from the blast of the whistle Nigeria made her first attempt at goal but was not successful. This lingered on for a time as Nigeria created 3 scoring chances gain without scoring even one goal.

As from 16:42pm Nigeria had created 8 corners kicks without converting even one.

The Siasia lads dominated the game with rare skill of football artistry to the fans and spectators without scoring goals in the first half of the encounter. The Nigeria team came so close with scoring chances in many occasions without a goal to show for it.

It was in the 16:37 minutes Nigerians were expecting their first goal as indirect kick was awarded to Nigeria. That particular chance was also wasted.

The 1st half ends with goalless draw either side. The 2nd half kick-off at 17:11pm by the Congolese u-23team. Ajayi Oluwafemi of 3Sc gave Nigeria her first goal 47 minutes into the 2nd half.

The Congolese u-23 team got their first and only goal at the 57th minutes of the 2nd half of the encounter.

Changes were made from both side, first it was the Congolese that made their first change. In the over all, the Congolese made only two changes and affected the midfield of the Nigerian U-23 dream team 6.

Siasia made three changes without result. At 11:36pm Awoniyi Taiwo Michael of imperial Academy FC came in for Daniel Etor Essien of Enyimba FC.

At 17:49 Umar Aminu of Osmanlispor FC came in for Godwin Saviour Amunde of Plateau Utd Nigeria last substitution was made towards the close moment of the 2nd half.

Speaking to sports journalists shortly after the game, Coach Siasia of Nigeria U-23 Dream Team 6, said, it was a good game but his only regret was the players missing lots of scoring chances. He assured Nigerians that his lads will successfully defend this victory at the Congolese ground in the return leg in Congo pray Nigerians to pray for the team.

On his part, Roy of Congo u-23 Dream Team said, Nigeria is a nice and good country, blessed with abundant of football talents. According to him, if there is any African country that will win the world cup it will be Nigeria.

He maintained that his team was lucky to have escaped high defeat as the Nigerians created many goal scoring chances but failed to utilized them purposefully. ###
