“You Are A Liar,” RSG Tell Peterside

dakuku nRivers State Government has fired back at the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the April polls, Dr Dakuku Peterside, saying his alleged attempt to misinform the state on the programmes of the government was cheap and pedestrian.

Media aide to the governor, Mr Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said Peterside had shown again that his gameplan if Rivers people had voted for him was to entrench the programmes of the former government that shut down the courts and ensured that the legislative arm of government was an extension of the executive arm of government as it operated under the supervision of the former governor in Government House, Port Harcourt.

Inko-Tariah said that people of the state were happy with the breath of fresh air in the state, stressing that the government will continue to focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

According to him, the operation zero pothole programme of the government was on course with Julius Berger and CCECC working.

“On the Operation Zero pothole project, Dakuku and his party can see the rot they left behind and how the so-called works of the Amaechi-led administration left our once enviable state badly-damaged in infrastructure. Thus his pettiness in alleging that the project is run by local contractors will judge itself as Julius Berger and CCECC will complete work on schedule and Rivers people will be better for it.

“Rivers people must disregard this hue and cry of Peterside and he is thus advised to get busy with more important things in his life. If he so loves Rivers State, he should join this administration to bring development and not to continually circulate falsehood and spread propaganda as he is currently doing as same will not earn him any sympathy or laurels because Rivers people know better now,” he said.

Meantime, the Rivers State Government has promised to increase funding for health institutions in the state to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Deputy Governor of the state, Ipalibo Harry-Banigo at Government House, Port Harcourt, when the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, paid her an advocacy visit, said that fund will be for procurement of health facilities, training and re-training of medical officers.

She said that the government will implement an all-inclusive healthcare policy and programme to improve life expectancy for women during and after delivery.

Banigo added that under the programme, efforts would be made to reduce infant and maternal mortality through affordable and accessible healthcare services.
