As Nigerians wait for a replacement of sacked Stephen Keshi in the person of Sunday Oliseh, the public relation officer of Nigeria Football supporters Club, Rivers State, Barr. Karibi George has expressed his opinion while speaking with The Newswriter sports, over the weekend.
According to the charismatic soft spoken football administrator, If Keshi was sacked for applying for the Ivorian job is it possible that the NFF had also held a “secret interview” with Oliseh unknown to Keshi? Whether Oliesh is the appropriate person to handle the Super Eagles at this crucial time will depend on a programme of action presented to the NFF by him and whether he can command the respect of the players and the approval of Nigerians.
“If Oliseh is able to invite Nigerians playing all over the world without such players having to pay for their call up then he can earn the players respect and the approval of Nigerians.
The rest will be based on his tactical response to matches. What is clear is that Keshi has so lost reputation with NFF and a good number of Nigerians that another coach was just a matter of time.
“Oliseh is familiar. He is reputed to be stubbornly principled. Let him translate that reputation to a “changed” Eagles and results on the pitch.
For Karibi George, whether Oliseh is the right coach to handle the Super Eagles at this crucial moment will be proven by Oliseh antecedent through his tactical, reputation of management, principle behavioural attitude to the job.
Many Nigerian soccer pundits are of the opinion that Oliseh is the right man for the Eagle’s job. While time will tell as Oliseh takes the mantle of leadership to lead the Eagles to the Promised Land Nigerians had so much dreamt. ###
