If what Political pundits described as a welcome development is anything to go by then the preparation of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to take back power in 2019 is timely as information reaching “The Newswriter” newsroom has it that another pillar of the All Progressives Congress, APC and distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe is seriously making his way, holding secret talks with Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on the possibility of his returning to the PDP.
Our informant who would not want his name mention on print claims that the distinguished Senator Abe would have been readmitted back into PDP fold two weeks ago should PDP be in a haste to do that rather taking time to study the remarriage processes so as not to hit any brick wall.
According to our source within Abe’s Camp, one of the pre-conditions for re-admittance of Senator Abe back to the PDP’s fold was withdrawal of the matter at the election petition tribunal against Senator Olaka Nworgu challenging his victory at the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
It would be recalled that Senator Abe was elected into the senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in May 2011 but later abandoned his party for a marriage with the APC in about 2013.
Senator Abe’s story in the APC is no longer news to those who are close to the corridor of politics in the state following his die-heart attitude to ensure the PDP does not exist, ex-president Goodluck Jonathan lost his election above all.
While analysts see the purported planned remarriage of the former distinguished Senator Abe as one of those things in politics, others wonder why the tough spoken APC chieftain would have suddenly reconsider his actions against the PDP and opt for a return.
To further substantiate the truth about the seemingly prodigal journey of the admired senator, the source revealed that one of his aides was busy informing his friends of not only their returning to the PDP but his (Abe’s aide) becoming the next General Manager of the Rivers State Television Authority (RSTV).
But, with the emergence of a veteran broadcaster, Dafini Gogo Abbey, as the new General Manager of the state owned television authority as confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, the self announced or made GM of the station has become a fruitless venture.
However, the appointment of a new General Manager for RSTV which is not a priority for Senator Abe’s return does not affect in anyway the alleged returned rather a lesson for people to conceal their ill-ambition to themselves.
Meanwhile if Senator Abe’s remarriage with the PDP is true, confirmed and made public in course of time, then APC gubernatorial candidate Dakuku Adol Peterside who is patiently sitting in APC because of his personal perception of Buhari’s intervention on his matter at the tribunal would be the next to move.
“What is the matter with Peterside’s Hotel Business begs for an urgent answer and the only answer needed perhaps could be from their political godfather the former governor and the APC”, our source stated.
Meanwhile local councils in the state were seriously looted by the immediate past unconstitutional chairmen of APC. ###
