Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said that the 22 caretaker committee chairmen and members, appointed by Governor Nyesom Wike, were in control of their respective local government councils.
The state chairman of the party, Chief Felix Obuah made the disclosure in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Obuah said the clarifications were necessary because of the conflicting report, which trailed the order of the National Industrial Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa on Monday July 13, 2015.
Some persons had circulated rumour in Rivers State on Monday, that the National Industrial Court had reinstated the 22 APC elected chairmen, sacked by the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt.
The chairman accused the gubernatorial candidate, on the platform of APC, Dr Dakuku Peterside, of being responsible for the rumour, describing it as false, mischievous, misleading, with the intention of causing anarchy in the state.
Obuah, who spoke through his Media aide, Mr. Jerry Needam said: “Dakuku Peterside, APC and their uninformed supporters, have deliberately or ignorantly, misunderstood and misinterpreted the issue of facts and real position of the court on the matter.”
