Ibanis Endorse Jeminimiema For Bonny Chairmanship…Youth Leader Tasks FG On Bonny -Bomu Road

A socio-political group, the Ibani Peoples Democratic Assembly, has urged a’ Niger Delta youth activist, Amb. Prince Tonye Jeminimiema, to contest for the chairmanship position of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The group made the call during a courtesy visit to the youth leader in his office in Port Harcourt recently.

The leader of the Ibani Peoples Democratic Assembly, Hon. Gogo Adolphus, in his speech, described Amb. Jeminimiema as a true Niger Delta son who believes in truth.

He commended his leadership style in piloting the affairs of the Rivers State Youth Leaders Assembly as well as the Niger Delta Youth for Practical Development in the state and region respectively.

Also speaking, the secretary of the group, Mr. Promise Samuel Hart, recalled that since the existence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1998 when Prince Jeminimiema served as a ward secretary, he had been committed to the vision of the PDP in Bonny and beyond and deserved the position of Chairman of Bonny L.G.A, especially given his role in ensuring that over 90% of members of the Okoloma-Ikpangi group, who were displaced and denied all ,entitlements, were later recognized and paid monthly amnesty benefits till date while some innocent ones among them who were wrongly arrested by the police based on false information were released.

In his response, Amb. Prince Tonye Jeminimiema thanked them for their visit while acknowledging the commendation and call to contest for the chairmanship of Bonny L.G.A.

He reiterated his loyalty and commitment to the ideology, mission and vision of the PDP since 1998 till date, adding that he participated actively as President-General of the Rivers State Youth Leaders Assembly and also as a committed member of PDP during the campaign, election and swearing-in of the Governor of Rivers State, Chief (Barr) Nyesom E. Wike, CON.

He said he is committed to ensuring that the governor succeeds throughout his tenure by delivering the dividends of democracy to Rivers People.

On calls on him to contest for the chairmanship of Bonny L.G.A, he said he would make wild consultation, first with his immediate constituency, ward 4 PDP leaders, the LGA PDP leaders and his mentor and boss, H. Rodaford LongJohn for his consent.

Jeminimiema called on all Rivers people and youths in particular to give their support to the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration.

He, however, called on the federal government of Nigeria, led by President Muhammadu Buhari, to facilitate the construction and completion of the Bonny-Bomu road which he said would ease traffic in the area and also fast-track the influx of multinational companies and foreign business investors in Bonny LGA. ###
