The Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has appointed a Judicial Commission of Enquiry to investigate the past administration of former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
The Judicial Commission be headed by Justice George Omereji of the state High Court.
A statement signed by the Governor said the commission amongst other responsibilities will investigate the sale of the Omoku Mega Gas turbine, the Afam gas turbine and the Eleme gas turbine.
The statement further said the commission will also investigate the sale of the Olympia Hotel, the Monorail Project, the disbursement of N2billion Agricultural Credit Fund and the withdrawal of N96billion Rivers state Reserve Fund.
Governor Wike said the Commission is expected to submit its report 30 days after its sitting.
The Commission has 33 points of reference bothering on identifying those who purchased the state’s assets and where the proceeds of the assets are.
The Rivers state government said the commission of Enquiry has since been inaugurated with Florence Fiberesima as its secretary.
