The Kalabari Se Kpangi of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has come hard on the chairman of the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Barr. Sogbeye Eli over unpleasant statement, he uttered against a judge of the Federal High Court.
Speaking at a press briefing, the chairman of the Kalabari IYC, Comrade Prince Sobrasua Odum described the criticism of the High Court judge by Barr. Eli as ridiculous, unguarded and above all, laughable”.
The IYC boss said that the Degema chairman, as a lawyer should have known better than to ridiculous himself in public by acting out the script of his masters.
“The truth is that Sogbeye Eli is a non-entity in the polity, he is trying hard to be relevant”, Comrade Odum said.
The Kalabari IYC advised Sogbeye Eli to swallow his pride and work towards advancing the state and not destabilize the polity that he should relinquish this Greek gift offered to him and his ilk by the past administration and support the present administration to move the Rivers State forward.
He observed that Mr. Eli is an embarrassment to the legal profession, and called on the governor to dissolve the Rivers councils and conduct a proper LGAs election with a level playing ground.
Meanwhile, apparent worried by the insecurity situation in Bakana community in the Degema Local Government, the Kalabari IYC boss, Comrade Odum has called on the state government and relevant authorities to establish a police station in Bakana. According to him if a police station is established in the community, it will reduce the wave of crime in the town.
Comrade Odum reiterated the resolve of the Kalabari chapter of the IYC to work closely with the current administration under the leadership of Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike so as to move the state forward.
Comrade Odum pleaded with the youths of Bakana community to respect constituted authorities to attract peace and development, adding that no community can make progress under the atmosphere of rancour and disagreement.
He charged the youths to always tread the path of peace and channel their energies towards profitable ventures saying that they are the leaders of tomorrow. ###
