Sharks, Dolphins Expects 8 Months Payment

Goodnews seems to be coming the way of the two sponsored teams of Rivers State, Sharks and Dolphins Football Clubs.

The two professional sides were owed to the period of eight (8) months salaries.

Information making the rounds in Radio programmes indicates that the two Port Harcourt sides will soon smile to the bank, of their eight months salaries owed them by the Amaechi-led administration.

Sharks and Dolphins, this season have not been impressive in their performance. Speaking to stakeholders and the administrators of the both clubs revealed that all is not well with the lads, as the salary issue has affected their psychic and performance mentality.

While the prayers continue to honour their matches in both home and away, the situation on ground affects their general performance in the field of play.

How possible their 8-months salaries pay will be true is another question as Manager of Rivers Angels ‘Matilda Opuene puts it, seeing is believing as this is not the first time the players have been promised without action.

The Amaechi’s administration is no longer in power, a new government is in place, with a new mindset, only hope and faith will see through the players added with prayers to see the light of the payment of their 8 (eight months salaries). Wike Government has pledged to lift sports in the State tagging it “the New Rivers State” will not owe sportsmen and women as sports is an industry that brings happiness in both international and local level, have added value to the lives of the youths in the society. As he puts it, while promising to take sportsmen and women serious in his administration.

Only time will tell what sportsmen and women will experience with the new Wike-led administration as hope keeps beckoning in the horizon for Rivers sportsmen and women.
