Masked gunmen at the weekend terrorized Buguma community, headquarters of the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State. Residents in the area are now living in fear
Due to frequent hooliganism in the council headquarters, business and commercial activities were paralyzed. Hoodlums are openly moving on the popular king Amachree Road, with arms and dangerous ammunition such as pistols and AK47 riffles.
On daily basis, these dreaded hoodlums shot sporadically to scare law abiding citizens away.
Their mission of embarking on this nonsense shooting is not clear, but sources attributed it to fight for supremacy.
“In the past few weeks, Buguma community has not experienced peace” an indigene of the town hinted our reporter.
According to him the community has come to a stage which he described as “Thomas Hobbian state of nature”, where life was short and brutish.
He called on the state governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike to intervene so as to calm the situation, “If not very soon, things will get out of hand”. ###
