Ahead of May 29th, 2015 transition to the incoming administration, a Chief in Rivers State, HRH Chief Owabie Tobin, the Eze Onumini I of Port Harcourt City LGA has advised the Governor-Elect in Rivers State, Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike to shun his ambition to occupy the Brick House to avoid embarrassment of being kicked out of office.
Chief Owabie gave the advice while in a chat with journalists at his residence in Port Harcourt.
The Royal father who expressed doubt if Nyesom Wike will be sworn into office, noted that even if he takes oath of office, his administration will not last due to the irregularities and high level of rigging that characterized the elections which gave him victory which the foreign and international observers described as fraud and sham, couple with the five political parties governorship candidates who participated in the elections petition against Nyesom Wike in the tribunal sitting in Abuja expressed optimism that Wike will not survive the case as he did not win the election based on free and fair election.
The royal father who illustrated his argument, recalled Chief Moshood Abiola who declared himself winner after the election was annulled which led to his death in 1994 noted that Wike’s victory may be denied due to irregularities during the elections.
He advised Wike not to dodge from being served petition papers he should make himself available to collect the papers if he is sure that he win the election.
Chief Owabie who commended Hon. Chimbiko Iche Akaralo for emerging victoriously at the APC primary elections as the chairmanship candidate in the Port Harcourt LGA further commended the party for conducting free and fair elections in Phalga.
Chief Owabie who noted that Hon. Chimbiko Akaralo was not steady in office during his first tenure in office as Mayor of Port Harcourt City LGA as well as does not carry everyone along in the scheme of thing as he carries along only the people of his ward in his first tenure in office advised him to change his attitude by being steady in office and carry everyone along in the scheme of thing irrespective of their wards in the LGA, in the area of employment.
The royal father who frowned at the manner Chimbiko Akaralo ordered his boys to chain vehicles discovered parked along Moscow Road near the council secretariat urged him to desist from such act rather should be polite with people.
Chief Owabie further advised Akaralo to employ more Phalga indigenes in the council as to reduce unemployment in the area as well as reduce the levies of the northerners who want to bury their late brothers and sisters at the Port Harcourt cemetery.
Chief Owabie who congratulated Mohammadu Buhari, the former Head of State on his victory in the last March 28, 2015 Presidential election despite all the irregularities and rigging perfected by the PDP.
The royal father who congratulated the federal government on their effort in trying to stop smoking in public, however noted that is not the major problem of Nigeria pointing out that the major problem of Nigeria is how to stop corruption.
According to him, stop individuals from smoking in public is a way to encourage police to harass innocent persons and collect illegal money from them which is corruption, pointing out that, if the federal government actually want to stop smoking in public they should ban the company producing cigarette as well as stop collecting tax from the company.
He further advised federal government not to use police to stop individuals from smoking in public rather they should divert police to stop those doing illegal business such as bunkery, criminals who vandalise power facilities and pipeline.
Chief Owabie who noted that the civil servants are suffering as a result of non payment of salaries by the states and federal governments advised senate to enact law that will ensure regular payment of workers salaries.###
