Akulga: Boat Mishap Claims 10 Persons

At least ten (10) persons have reportedly dead as two (2) speed boats collided on along kilometer 16 Ekule-Ama near Kula Creek in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

According to information reaching our newsroom, the accident occurred at about 8.30pm on Tuesday, alleging that the two (2) boat did not have marine touch light.

There was wailing and gnashing of teeth when the remains of some of the victims were brought to the Nembe waterfront in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Wednesday.

Sources informed our correspondent that the driver of one of the boats was also drowned and attributed the accident to reckless driving and excess speed. ###
