Asalga: Abalama Monarch Identifies Trouble Makers

The Amanyabo of Abalama Community in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH King A.B. Big Tom Tom VIII has identified persons causing problems in his domain.

This is was contained in a press release entitled, “My life is under threat”, and sent to newsmen last week, the monarch noted that there are disgruntled Chiefs and politicians that are fueling crisis in his community, since he ascended the throne 24 years ago.

The monarch who alleged that his life is now under danger because he gave his royal blessing to a gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside adding that as a result of this, some politicians have incited indigenes of the community and political parties against him.

The release reads in part, “On the 10th day of March 2015, a group of people identified as PDP members in Asari-Toru Constituency 2, besieged my Palace carrying placards. They alleged that I, the Amanyanabo of Abalama have endorsed only the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside. It is only a sadist and people who sow seeds of discord that can believe such make up stories knowing very well that as a monarch I have never involved myself in partisan politicians even while I was a civil servant.”

In a related development, the youths of Abalama community in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State have unanimously disagreed with their monarch His Royal Highness King A.B tom Tom that he is being threatened by his people.

Speaking to newsmen at the weekend, the youth chairman of Abalama community and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP leader of ward eleven (11) Iyalla Nodia stated that they are displeased with the Amayanabo’s claims on the pages of newspaper in the state that his life is under threat due to a protest by his people that he has endorsed a particular gubernatorial candidate.

The youth leader explained to this weekly that the only staged a peaceful protest in the community to show their total support for the PDP against rumour the royal father endorsed the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial candidate Dakuku Peterside for the state governorship election later this month. And the protest who was to show that the community is totally for PDP.

The youth leader urged the monarch to go and settle some other problems he may have with some community leaders and exonerate the members of the Peoples Democratic Party from his further claims describing the members of the PDP as peaceful and threatened to take legal actions against the monarch has no thugs. He also assured that after the protest there has never been any issue with the monarch if such claims persist, insisting that the Amayanabo’s stool as an exalted one that no person can threaten.

On his part, Mr. Ibiso Nelson said he is surprised that the Amayanabo could say such unsubstantiated statements against his people. He urged the people to disregard the claim describing it as baseless and unfounded, stressing that the members of the PDP in Abalama have done so much for him and cannot think of hurting their own royal father. ###
