APC WILL BRING DESIRABLE CHANGE IN NIGERIA – KOBAH

Following the outcome of the just concluded presidential election, which saw the emergence of General Mohammadu Buhari, (rtd) as the winner of the election, the Rivers South East Zonal Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that the administration of Buhari will bring about the desirable changes that Nigerians have been yearning for.

Mene Comrade James C. Kobah Jp, who gave the assurance in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, said that a lot have gone wrong in the country under President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, particularly in Ogoni Land.

He noted that the refusal of President Jonathan to implement the UNEP report, may have contributed to the reasons why he lost the presidential election, adding that the so called committee that was said to have been set-up by Mr. President to address the UNEP report is non-functional.

Kobah went further to state that the way and manner security agencies conducted themselves in the last election was condemnable and however called for a better conduct by the security agents in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, for a free, fair and credible election at the end of the day.

He was optimistic that victory will come the way of the APC after the 11th April, 2015 election, stressing that they will challenge the just concluded National Assembly election in the state, which was out-rightly won by the PDP in the state.

On the coming of Belema Oil in Ogoni land, Kobah noted that the Ogonis are still studying the development and have not endorsed any oil company to come back to Ogoni land, since the UNEP report has not been addressed.

Responding on the face-off between the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Technical and Recreational Employees (AUPCTRE) and TIMA-RIV, the labour leader noted that he was part and parcel of TIMA-RIV unionization by AUPCTRE, and stated that the recent incidences that have involved TIMA-RIV staff in the state, was an indication of the need for workers to be protected by its union.

He was optimistic that the assurances given to AUPCTRE by the Honorable Commissioner of Transport, Rivers State, Mr. Tolofari that the matter would be resolved immediately after the general elections, will be realistic at the end of the day.
