The CTC chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Casidi Ikegbidi has raised alarm over fake electoral result sheets in the LGA polling units.
Hon. Ikegbidi who chat with journalists during last Saturday’s Presidential, National Assembly elections in Ahoada East LGA expressed sad over the ugly scenario that displayed during the elections.
High Chief Ikegbidi disclosed that the people of the LGA were fully prepared to cast their votes but discovered that the electoral result sheets brought to them were fake.
He accused PDP of collaborating with the INEC chairman in Rivers State, Dame Gesila Khan of spreading fake electoral result sheets in the polling units.
According to him, prior to the elections precisely Friday 27th March, 2015 INEC released result sheets to PDP and it was written in one of the PDP, chieftain’s house but this morning we confirmed that the result sheets given to cast our votes were fake, I have to go to the INEC office and explained the ugly scenario to the electoral officer and the Area Commander they said they will look into it but uptil now nothing have been done.
He further stressed that failure to bring the original result sheets to them made him asked the members of the APC to boycott the elections in the LGA because without the original result sheets the entire exercise is fake.
Ikegbidi maintained that the PDP cannot win elections in Ahoada hence the PDP resorted to collaborate with INEC to print fake result sheets to manipulate and creates violence in the state.
He called on all APC supporters in the LGA and state to remain calm, be steadfast and support the party to win the election.
Similarly, Gift Eke alias Muma G House of Representatives candidate in Ahoada on the platform of Labour Party who confirmed the spread of fake result sheets in the polling units in Ahoada East LGA noted that they wrote the original result sheet released by INEC to PDP in a PDP chieftain’s House and inform the people of Ahoada to know that if they announced the result it is not the wishes of the people.
Meanwhile the Accountant General of the Rivers State government, Sir Ngozi Abu said the massive turn out of voters in the Ahoada East LGA was an indication that the people of the area were fully prepared for the election.
The Accountant General who spoke with journalists while shortly after accreditation with his wife, Mrs. Abu at Unit 13 Ward 10 Ihuma in Ahoada East LGA during last Saturday’s presidential and national Assembly elections noted that the people of the area were committed to exercise their franchise and vote for candidates of their choice.
He expressed confidence that with introduction of card reader into the electoral system in Nigeria, the INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega would conduct a credible fair election across the nation and advised the youths not to make trouble during the election rather they should vote for candidates of their choice. ###
