The Minister in charge of the Federal Ministry of Sports, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo on Tuesday made utterances during a summit organized by the Rivers Ijaw People Forum in Port Harcourt bordering on the origin of the gubernatorial flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Dakuku Peterside. The Federal Minister who told the audience that Peterside is not an Ijaw man and called on the people of the state to reject him in the April 11, 2015 polls.
According to Dr. Danagogo, the attitude of the Rivers APC gubernatorial candidate exhibits severally that he has no Ijaw blood flowing in his vein. The Sports Minister blasted Dakuku for not supporting the second term bid of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, an Ijaw man, saying that if Dakuku is truly an Ijaw son he wouldn’t have given his support to a northerner in person of Mohammadu Buhari.
Dr. Danagogo had earlier canvassed votes for Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, saying that he (Wike) has all what it takes to pilot Rivers State to the Promised Land. He appealed to the people of the state to vote massively for Chief Wike come April 11, 2015.
Dr. Danagogo further urged them to support the continuity of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Meanwhile a prominent Ijaw son who simply identified himself as Chief Johnny Brown, allegedly traced the origin of Dakuku to a family in Kogi State. Chief Brown maintained that if Dakuku is actually a Rivers man as he claims, he would have avoided Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Gen. Mohammedu Buhari.
“Amaechi is not an Ijaw son. Buhari is not an Ijaw son. Therefore, every truly Ijaw son or daughter should avoid them like lepers” Chief Brown concluded. ###
