Tonye Princewill Is A Chronic Governorship Contestant

GDIQues: Can we know you?

Ans: I am Damiete West, a journalist and a politician. I am from Asari-Toru Local Government Area. A strong member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and a National Assistant Secretary of the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI).

Ques: When did you join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)?

Ans: That is a nice question. I am a pioneer member of PDP in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area. I join the PDP since 1998. I have been instrumental to the electoral victories of the party since then. And by the special grace of God, I have served the party in different capacities

Ques: Do you have ambition for any elective position in your LGA?

Ans: For now, I have never developed any political ambition. My focus is for Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to emerge as the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, come May 29, 2015. I am an ardent supporter of Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, and it is also my prayer for him to step into the Brick House in May 29, 2015.

Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike is my Grand Patron and I have so much confidence on his leadership. I believe strongly that if Wike becomes the next governor of the oil rich Rivers State, the people of the state will enjoy the dividends of democracy.

With the home work the GDI and PDP have done, no doubt Wike will emerge the next governor of Rivers State. No gubernatorial candidate of any registered political party can defeat Wike. As a strong and frontline member of GDI, I hope that Dr. Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Prince Tonye Princewill of Labour Party (LP) will fail.

None of them can match Wike. As for Dakuku I know that shortly after his defeat in April 11, 2015 polls, he shall return to PDP. I am very sure of that. Tonye Princewill is a chronic governorship contestant. He might defect to another party in 2019 to contest. I am not a native doctor or soothsayer, but something is telling me within that Tonye Princewill with continue to contest the governorship seat until he attains the age of 70.

Ques: Now that you don’t have any political ambition. What is your interest in the next political dispensation?

Ans: As for now, I want to see the emergence of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike come May 29, 2015. If the two of them win, that is also my political victory. My interest is for Jonathan and Wike to win.

Ques: What is your relationship with the leadership of the party in your LGA?

Ans: Very cordial. The party chairman, Evang. Jerry Thom Pepple Amachree is my big brother. We talk almost everyday. Just last Sunday afternoon, he called me, and we discussed extensively and intensively about the progress of the party. Jerry is a good man, a politician who has all what he takes to deliver the party come March, 28 and April 11, 2015.

Jerry is a man of vision and a mission. He has the political muscles to face the storm and I know that at the end of the day like Joshua of old shall take us to the Promised Land.

Ques: Do you see the possibility of PDP winning in your LGA (Asari-Toru)?

Ans: We will not have problems in Asari-Toru Local Government Area. PDP is on ground. With the current political crew namely: Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji, Chief Hon. Ibinabo Michael-West, Chief Odiari Princewill, Alabo George Kelly, Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich, alias Egberipapa and several others, I think APC cannot see the light of the day. ###
