The secretary of the Ijaw Youth Council, Kalabari Se Ikpangi, Comrade Seipiribo C.T. Briggs has been removed from office. The chairman of Kalabari IYC, Comrade Prince Sobrasua Odum made this known at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday.
He alleged that Comrade Briggs was sacked based on ineffectiveness and negligence of duties.
Despite the expulsion of the embattled scribe, the Kalabari IYC boss wondered, why Comrade Briggs is now parading himself as the chairman of IYC in the Kalabari clan.
“What my former secretary is doing is impersonation and is capable of attracting jail term.
As far as we are concerned, he has been expelled long time ago because he is not good for the job. He cannot take down minutes and also inability to perform well”, Prince Odum said.
Prince Odum maintained that he remains the authentic chairman of IYC in Kalabari Clan, “because the Kalabari kingdom is made up of three LGAs, namely Degema, Asalga and Akulga. And Asalga has served its two tenures, while I am from Degema and serving my second tenure. And after my tenure, the chairmanship position will move to Akulga, where my former secretary comes from. So it is not the turn of Akulga for now”.
The IYC chairman who is also the security adviser Kalabari clan in the Eastern IYC advised Comrade Briggs to stop parading himself as the chairman IYC Kalabari se Ikpangi, threatening that if he continues that way, the law of the land will soon be caught up with him.
Prince Odum had earlier threw his weight behind the re-election of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan come March 28, 2015.
He extolled the leadership qualities of President Jonathan, saying that he has done much for the people of Nigeria.
The IYC boss also canvassed votes for Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and his deputy, Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Harry Banigo in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
He declared that, a vote for Wike and Banigo is a vote for progress and proper accountability. Prince Odum, however, praised the leadership styles of Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich, alias Egberipapa. The Kalabari IYC chairman expressed optimism that with Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich, PDP will be delivered not only in Asalga, but the entire Kalabari kingdom. He described Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich as a peace loving man that wants the progress of the Kalabari ethnic nationality.
Prince Odum condemned the recent killing in Bakana community in the Degema Local Government Area. He vowed to expose the perpetrators of the evil act in no distant time. ###
