Guber Poll: Wike Suits The Strategy To Return Power To PDP – Chukumati

CHUKWUMATIA former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and member of the then Constituent Assembly, Senator Noble Chukumati , has described Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike as the strategy that suits the winning of the state guber election back to the PDP.

The PDP Chieftain who made the disclosure after the Ward to Ward campaign rally at Ward 12, in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State, commended the outcome of the rally and other rallies of the party, describing them as issue based.

Chukumati, who spoke in line with Chief WIKe on the demolition of Senator Obi Wali Cultural Centre by the government of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi in place of the Silver Bird Galleria, stressed that such act by Amaechi depicts his level of dishonor to the personality of late Wali.

He maintained that the choice and location of the former cultural centre which was approved by the then military government in the state, as a mark of honour to late Chief Wali, could not equate the obscured conference centre that was built by Amaechi and only accessible when there is a conference in the state.

The former lawmaker who was elected to represent the people of South East Senatorial District of Rivers State, frowned at the attitude of some APC members who blocked the outside parking space in front of Rumuigbo Civic Centre, which prevented PDP members from parking their cars for the Ward 12 campaign rally held recently in the area, said such action was uncalled for.

He wondered why attacks on PDP members during campaign rallies at Abua/Odual and Degema LGAs of the state, were not given prominence by the media as done to the incidence at APC rally in Okirika LGA and the visit of some National Assembly members to only the APC guber candidate in the state, Hon. Dakuku Peterside.

Senator Chukumati however called on Rivers people to appreciate the administrative effort of Wike, describing him as a man that has legacy and track record that will serve the people of Rivers State for the better.

While urging the people of the state to always look up to the future, he commended the people for their understanding of the realities on ground and doing away with primordial sentiments. He was optimistic that Wike winning the guber election will signify the end of ethnic dichotomy in the state.

The Rumuigbo born politician said the demolition of late Wali Cultural Centre was what kept him out of the activities of PDP while Amaechi’s administration lasted on the platform of the PDP, despite his membership of the PDP, Chukumati stated and further expressed his joy that Chief Wike has also come to the realization of the wrong doing by Governor Amaechi and his assurance to do things the right way, if given the mandate.

The party stakeholder in Obio/Akpor stressed that PDP is a moving Train that no one can stop, since it is a performing party that will continue to win elections in the country. He further affirmed that the duo of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Barr. Wike amongst others, were the chosen PDP candidates that will deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians and Rivers people in particular.

Advising the people of Rivers State, particularly those in Rumuigbo to go about their campaign rallies and elections peacefully, irrespective of party affiliations, Chukumati enjoined them to understand that no one benefits anything when the people scamper for their safety as a result of violence, using the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, as a case study.
