The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has taken over the entire Abua/Odual LGA in Rivers State as the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC crashed out.
Last week, the support for the ruling party increases in the area as traditional rulers, market women, youths, okada riders and several others threw their weight behind the candidature of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and that of Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Wike.
The indigenes declared their intention to support President Jonathan and Wike, when the state chapter of the PDP Youth Reap took their grassroots campaign to the LGA. The said campaign rally was led by Barr. Marshall Stanley Uwom.
Speaking at the rally, Barr. Uwom called on the people of the area to stand behind President Jonathan and Wike come March 28, and April 11, 2015. He described the PDP as a winning team.
Also speaking, the former chairman of Abua/Odual LGA, Hon. Akuphel Sam said that PDP is the only party that can give the people what they want in terms of development. He urged them to vote for President Jonathan and Chief Wike.
In his remarks, the chairman of PDP in the area, Hon. Ken Wariboko pointed out that PDP is the ruling party and all other parties are unfit to rule.
In his response the co-ordinator of the PDP Youth Reap, Rivers chapter, Comrade Ezekiel Warigbani had extolled the leadership qualities of president Goodluck Jonathan and Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Wike.
He said he has confidence on the President’s Transformation Agenda, and advised the youths of Abua/Odual to avoid political violence.
The highlight of the occasion was the defection of some prominent members of the APC to the ruling party (PDP). ###
