ISSUES ABATTOIR: Celebrating Victory In Anticipated Failure

buhari” VICTORY, according to the English lexicon is an instance of having won a competition or battle”. The Nigeria rescheduled general elections has been greeted with Celebrations, negative criticisms and unguarded utterances by many especially party supporters. Amidst the celebrations are some party faithful who ignorantly rejoice in the incessant killings and unrest in parts of the nation, because they probably either instigated or incited it via their greed mistaken for incorruptibility.

Celebration could either be in the negative or in the positive perspective. It depend on what a celebrant celebrates. Burials, Survivals, Birthdays, Marriages and what have you could be considered as celebrations in the context best described by who is concerned.

Many are rejoicing today claiming they would win the reschedule elections. Indeed, what is left for them is to declare themselves winners of the yet to be conducted reschedule elections. Without mincing words, the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, going by their numerous and unguarded utterances and boasting have reveal, but not for electoral laws, would have announce its party as winner of the upcoming elections before hands.

In Politics, it is obvious that respective groups, parties, as well as candidate’s desires winning but what matters most is how they go about seeking that winning, success or victory. While some are hardworking devising possible means for coming victorious, others are busy celebrating nonexistent victory even as it has not or very hard to come by irrespective of exposed antics to come by it.

Notwithstanding the constitutional prohibitions of announcing or declaring oneself winner of any election while awaiting results or after results are announced. The case of Chief Moshood K.O.Abiola stands tall in Nigeria annals of history till date. While contestants are expectant of victory in their contest, the lives of citizenry and electorates should remain green in their hearts, but a situation where lives are seriously threatened in respect of the upcoming polls, then danger is ahead.

It seems so because the opposition All Progressives Congress,APC, and its presidential candidate Mohamed or Muhammadu Buhari, aside from recalling his archaic or obsolete military styles of dictatorship as well as negative upheavals and tendencies has been threatening the peaceful co existence of Nigeria should he fail the 2015 general poll.

A popular axiom states that “when a child cries and pointing finger to a particular direction, it implies that either the mother or the father is there.” Buhari’s confidence in running the 2015 was not surprising to many who heard, saw and understand the purported plan of some northerners who claims they are “born to rule”, with the INEC boss in far away United Arab Emirate,Dubai.

Buhari, irrespective of his certificate saga, inhumane treatment while in office as head of state, several threats to the country’s peace is not deterred on his ambition rather bent on actualizing the northern agenda.

What social pundits wondered was if there are any effect should Nigeria be no more before, during and after election? Apart from the United States prediction of Nigeria disintegration, though purportedly recalled, its seemingly that if Nigeria disintegrate in 2015, there may be some level of quietness, security when every individual region or tribe would be saddled with cost of either developing or under developing, killing or doing otherwise with its country, even as Buhari could then aspire to governs its expected Islamic country as well as his pet project or programme, the Boko Haram.

ISSSUES ABATTOIR, going by the body language of the deposed, untamed ex- general, suggests that security operatives invite him for questioning and of course dock him for seemingly parading as the winner of the yet to be conducted election. Again, his unguarded utterances are synonymously becoming unpardonable of a former head of state, even by his supporters ,hence should be invited to answer some questions not forgetting his lies to the nation on the where about and authenticity of his certificate.

Is it not right for public office seekers not minding their strategies for winning election to remain civil, peaceful and humane for the interest and survival of others?

In as much as Nigeria project was concerned the southerners were not second fiddle, they did not beg to join the project rather drafted into it by the ambitious colonial masters who understood their trade principles alone and felt the exclusion of the south would mar their successes.

Southerners are major stakeholders in the 1914 amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates, they are not beggars in the country, therefore should be accorded equal opportunities like others.

It is sad that some-the northerners- claims they are born to rule in an estate co-owned by all, the reason why they(Northerners)governed the nation for over Forty years (40) years since its independence 55 years ago. Thank God for this exposed secret of the northerners.

It is again regrettably the understanding of northern extraction when they insisted to be ruling the country alone while others watches on. Hurray! The period of ruling was over and what Nigerians yearn for now is leadership; one who would provide the needed leadership not rulership.

Regrettably it is also, that few of the southerners who are doing the nanny job for the heartless, wicked and tribal cum religious centered ex- general, have no deep understanding of the agenda of the 72 year man who knows his antics alone.

Sometimes one wonder why certain northern office seekers are not only aggressive, bent but also inquisitive to claiming an office at all costs. For instance, Buhari quest in the last three elections was too dangerous, which he threatened it would be bloody if he losses. He also said he would make Nigeria ungovernable if he loses and since then Nigerians should tell the truth; if Boko Haram was in existence when the Northerners were on the Nigerian steering. Buhari, also claims he would end Boko Haram within six month if elected. Could any one deduce meaning from the ex-generals comments all the ways? It is only a director of an institution that is able to detects what and how he wants his establishment to be run. It would be deduced that Buhari other than using might in civilian setting perhaps had known who the Boko Haram’s are, where they operates from, hence his boastings on ending its operation within six(6)months. One would be tempted to ask, will he do it alone as an ex-general, or just past orders?

If Buhari is even elected, would he give orders to eliminate both innocent civilians without the consideration of the National Assembly? It is earlier said, Buhari has lots of question to provide answers to.

Is this Buhari untouchable? Is he the only Northerner who is heartless and threatening the peace of Nigeria? Are there no Polished Northerners who could articulate speeches and be humanly reasonable for once?

In the Atiku era, it was like if not him Nigeria would disappear, what is wrong with these group?

Other than canvassing for votes peacefully, the Buhari factor and group are busy making utterances capable of igniting flames, this is uncalled for in Nigeria. The incisive statements would not help those involved.
