Alleged N30m Bribe: MOSOP Threatens Legal Suit Against Wike’s Aide

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP, has demanded immediate public apology from the Chairman, Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Campaign Organisation in Rivers State, Mr. Emma Okah, for allegedly accusing the MOSOP President, Mr. Legborsi Saro Pyagbara, of complicity in bribery to tune of N30 million in relation to the Belema Oil crisis in Ogoniland.

This is contained in a statement by the Media and Public Affairs Advisor to the MOSOP President, Bari-ara Kpalap.

According to the statement, “MOSOP believes that the mischievous report was constructed and circulated in bad faith, aiming to bring the MOSOP president to disrepute hence we demand an immediate retraction of the false report, warning that if the demands are not met within seven days, we would have no choice than to explore all civilize and peaceful means to obtain redress”.

“MOSOP would like to state unequivocally that the uncompromised stance of the MOSOP president regarding Belema Oil and commencement of oil production in Ogoniland is public knowledge. Facts abound that Mr. Pyagbara has not at any time been involved in the Belema Oil craze neither has he been paid any kobo not to talk of being given thirty million naira and we challenge Mr. Okah and his faceless masterminds to show prove of the claim”.
