Rivers FA Election: China Acheru Challenges Incumbent

The Rivers State football Association Election is slated to hold today, being 19th of February, Thursday, 2015.

Two aspirants so pronounced in the football family will be at the poll against each other. China Acheru is the media officer of Dolphins football club of Port Harcourt and the incumbent, Barr. Christopher Green the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee Chairman.

From the look of things, the incumbent might have a upper hand if experience and playing the politics of FA election is considered.

Yet, China Acheru, the Ikwerre man has the support of the new generational footballers and administrators to his favour because, they want a change.

According to some, The Newswriter sports spoke to said, Green had been there for a reasonable time of years and had not really impacted much into Rivers State football and footballers.

While sports writers are saying that the incumbent has not in any way contributed to the upliftment of Rivers State sports pen pushers.

The general overview of both young upcoming footballers and old, said, Barr. Green has to leave the position of Rivers State FA for a more purposeful articulate young blood like China Acheru, who is more pushy and proactive when it come to fighting for his own, saying, China Acheru is a better replacement to Barr. Green.

The die is cast. Who wins Rivers State FA elections come 19th February? China Acheru or Barr. Christopher Green, the delegates will decide.

The general view of the Port Harcourt upcoming footballers against Green is that he cares not of Port Harcourt young footballers, adding that he never takes time to go round football pitches to watch Port Harcourt boys play, with the view of helping them to grow into either of the national teams even as he was the chairman of NFF technical committee chairman for seasons.

They cited the case of Bobby Kingsley Sokari, who was discovered at Amaechi Unity Soccer tournament, and Julius Gideon who shone like stars of the future, yet Green bother not.

Kingsley was helped into Enyimba by Coach Imama Amapakabo while Julius Gideon struggled on his own to find his feet in Heartland. Now clubless, even as the young man is fit and inform.

For Sokari, he has become house hold name in Nigeria football.   ###
