Polls Shift: Royal Father Faults Jonathan, Blasts Secondus

Reactions have trailed the postponement of last Saturday 14th February general elections; the latest was from a chief in Rivers State, HRH Chief Owabie Tobin, the Eze Onumini 1 of Port Harcourt City LGA.

In a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, Chief Owabie Tobin who expressed worry over the INEC postponement of the elections to March 28th and 11th April, 2015 described it as unfortunate and a calculated plan by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to buy time and rig the elections in his favour as he was fully aware that if the elections were to be conducted, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC would have defeated him.

The royal father who recalled how Rivers State people and Nigerians massively voted President Goodluck Jonathan to emerge winner in 2011 elections expressed disappointment that the incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has performed below expectation.

According to him, President Jonathan administration has witnessed insecurity, missing funds, impunity, corruptions, poverty, and unemployment among other negative tendencies.

He advised APC members not to make trouble in the postponement of the elections rather should keep calm, be steadfast pointing out that despite the postponement of the elections God has already destined Buhari to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2015, adding that nobody can change destiny but can only be delayed.

He commended Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers State for his wonderful performance in all sectors of human endeavour especially in area of security as people lives and properties were protected in his administration unlike former Governor Peter Odili’s administration where people died on daily basis.

Reacting on a statement credited to Prince Uche Secondus, the PDP National Vice Chairman of the South South zone at the PDP campaign rally in Akwa Ibom State that Governor Amaechi spent money meant for Rivers people recklessly.

According to the Royal Father, Prince Uche Secondus embezzled funds given to him by Gov. Amaechi’s first tenure to construct internal road in Andoni as well as embezzled millions of naira given to him to build hospital in Andoni rather than build the hospital he only built a health centre and divert the remaining money.

The Royal Father urged APC members not to be intimidated by anyone rather should vote all APC candidates in both national, state and local election, expressing optimism that the All Progressives Congress, APC will emerge victoriously in the March 28th, 2015 elections. ###
