Rivers State Government has signed an Engineering Procurement Contract with a Chinese firm, Jiangsu First Electric Power Construction Company for the construction of Justice Karibi White Specialist Hospital.

Speaking during the Signing of the MOU in Port Harcourt, the Health Commissioner Dr. Tamunoiyoriari Parker expressed hope that the Chinese firm will fast track the completion of the project which will help reduce the disease burden of the State and make the State, the destination for best health care services.

Dr. Parker explained that the firm was brought in when the construction work on the 1,000 beds hospital was stalled due to contractual disagreement between the State Government and Clinotec, the original project handler.

Also speaking, the representative of Chinese Government, Julie Zhu, assured that they would put in their best resources to ensure that the project is completed within two years.

The Commissioner of Justice and the State Attorney General, Wogu Boms presided over the signing.
