A prominent Chief in Rivers State, HRH Chief Owabie Tobin, the Eze Onumini 1 of Port Harcourt has called on Nigerians to support the candidature of Rtd General Mohammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Dakuku Peterside the governorship candidate of APC in Rivers State to enable them emerged winners in the February elections.
The royal father who chatted with journalists at his Akokwa residence in Port Harcourt, while recalling on Rt. General Buhari’s performance in his short period tenure in office as military Head of State noted that the former Head of State has played a vital role to change the nation for better but his administration was truncated by Rtd. Gen. Badamasi Babangida who took power through a coup which made Buhari not to complete the good gesture he has for Nigeria stressing that if given him the opportunity to pilot the affairs of the country again he would consolidate on his achievements.
According to him, when Buhari was a former head of State he introduced price control in the market and ensured that traders comply to his directive.
He also introduced War Against Indiscipline WAI and punished those who were found guilty of the offences as he made police and other corrupt Nigerians desist from their bribery and corrupt practices.
Similarly, his administration introduced operation clean your environment which ensure high level of cleanliness in the country as he arrested those who urinated and dumped refuse indiscriminately pointing out that his administration has gone a long way to reform Nigeria for better which made Nigerians to receive commendation from people outside the country on the comment credited to President Goodluck Jonathan that Mohammadu Buhari did not equip the military when he was military Head of State, the royal father who faulted President Jonathan on the issue recalled his comment in a public function that the military cannot be equipped within one year. He reminded President Jonathan that Buhari venue as military head of State was only year and eight months stressing that even Jonathan cannot achieve that within that short period.
Chief Owabie Tobin who is also the leader of Alliance Diobu Chief, Elders and Youths Forum of Nigeria frowned at the non performance of Hon. Victor Ihunwo, a lawmaker representing Phalga constituency III in the Rivers State House of Assembly and the PDP candidate vying for re-election same position in February the people of Phalga constituency III not to vote for Ihunwo rather should vote for Mr. Chima Nnokam, the All Progressives Congress APC candidate for the House of Assembly seat stressing that Mr. Nnokam will achieve what Hon. Victor Ihunwo cannot achieve in the past eight years of his tenure if given him the opportunity.
The royal father who recalled that the riverine has been producing deputy governor since the administration of Dr. Peter Odili, Sir. Celestine Omehia and Governor Amaechi recalled that the PDP during a public function boasted that the Riverine cannot be governor in Rivers State called on the riverine people to take it as challenge by voting for one of their sons, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, the APC Rivers State governorship candidate in the February election describing Peterside as a credible candidate who will consolidate on Amaechi laudable achievements pointing out that if they failed to produce a riverine governor in the next dispensation, Bro. Felix Obuah, the PDP chairman in Rivers State will become governor in 2019 hence he is working hand to ensure that Wike become governor in May 29, 2015. ###
