Phalga Wards: PDP Candidates Promise Better Development

Potts Johnson Street in Port Harcourt Old Township was locked down Tuesday as mammoth crowd of members of ward five (5) gathered at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat to welcome the duo of Hon. (Mrs.) Blessing Charles Nsiegbe, member representing Phalga Constituency two (2) in the Federal House of Representatives and Mr. Tamunotonye Smart Adoki, aka Ayinla, the House of Assembly candidate in Phalga Constituency two (2).

The brief ceremony witnessed political heavyweights, stakeholders and opinion leaders who came in their good numbers to show solidarity and support to the candidates. In his speech the ward 5 chairman of the PDP, Ben Okuru pledged his total support on behalf of members of Ward five (5) to deliver the candidates as at when due saying that her will continually sensitize and mobilize his people to achieve success and victory at the polls.

Director and co-ordinator of Phalga constituency two (2), Chief Aribiton Okiri who earlier introduced the candidates, assured them of the support of Phalga constituency members, adding that the PDP will sweep the polls at the 14th and 28th February elections.

He advised the candidates to carry along all the PDP members in the scheme of things, pointing out that Ward five (5) has the highest voting units in Phalga and noted that the voting strength will be an added advantage in terms of delivering them.

Responding, the House of Assembly candidate, Mr. Tamunotonye Smart Adoki, aka Ayinla appealed to the people to come out enmasse and vote for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike and all PDP candidates at all levels. He further enjoined them to canvass for votes in their neighbourhood and environs to make the PDP triumph in next month’s general elections.

Adoki extolled leadership qualities of the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan for her love and support towards the growth and standards of the party in the state, as well as the nation in general, stressing that if given the mandate, he will give his best to turn thing around and bring even development to the constituency. “You will not regret voting me into the House of Assembly”, he said.

Adoki also urged them to vote enmasse for Hon. Blessing Charles Nsiegbe and Senator George Thompson Sekibo for the National Assembly seats.

In her speech, Blessing Nsiegbe said she has the conviction that the PDP will reward a landslide victory in next month’s general election. He urged them to come out, talk to people on the importance of casting their votes for the ruling party.

“It is not the time to make promises. This time around we are going to get it from all strata. Every hand will be on deck, as we are going to work as a family. When we are doing it together, it is better than when a single person is doing it. I and the Assembly candidate (Ayinla) will work together to achieve success”. The amiable Nsiegbe stated.###
