Delga: APC Collapses In Bakana Community …As 450 Members Defect To PDP

Ahead of the February 2015 general elections, no fewer than 450 members of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC in Bakana Community in the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State have finally decamped to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The event which took place at the community square on Monday, attracted people from all walks of life, including: opinion leaders, party chiefs, students union activists amongst others.

Speaking at the event, the King of Youths in the Bakana Community, Comrade Marvin Thompson thanked the decampees for taking the right steps to join the ruling party. According to Comrade Thompson, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next month’s general election.

The King of Youths in Bakana called on the people of the area to vote for the PDP, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike for governor and all the candidates contesting on the platform of the ruling party.

Comrade Thompson further extolled the leadership qualities of Dr. Farah Dagogo, a PDP candidate for Delga Constituency seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly. He described Dr. Farah as a good man who believes in the development of the Degema Local Government Area.

He expressed optimism that if Dr. Farah is given the mandate to serve in the State House of Assembly, the people of the Degema Constituency will begin to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Comrade Thompson urged the people to vote for Dr. Farah come February 28, 2015 in order to usher in the needed development into the area.

Receiving the decampees, the Vice Chairman of the PDP in the LGA, Hon. Tamunokuro Williams Iyalla assured them of total integration into the party. He said that there is no discrimination in PDP, expressing optimism that PDP will form the government come May 29, 2015. Hon. Williams-Iyalla enjoined the people to ensure that they vote massively for PDP in the forthcoming election. Hon. Williams Iyalla lauded Dr. Farah for his exemplary leadership, adding that the House of Assembly candidate has attracted much development into the area.

Also speaking, the President of Italiku, who was the spokesman of the decampees, Ibiduama Braide described APC as a failed political party. Braide who was a PRO of his former party, APC in Ward 5 in Bakana, said that APC has nothing to offer Nigerians. He observed that APC is a dead political party that cannot win a single ward in the community during the next month’s general election.

The President of the Italiku called on the people to dump the opposition party, APC, alleging that its members are deceivers, whose hearts are far away from the development of the town.

“APC is not a good party. It has no good agenda for the Rivers people. Buhari, Dakuku and Lulu Braide all of them will fail. Please vote for PDP, it is the only political party that will give you what you want in this life”, the Italiku President concluded.

The highlight of the occasion was a rally organized by the ruling PDP.
