Rivers Speaker Fired

SPEAKERThe gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the Rivers State wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike has condemned the non challant attitude of the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Otelemaba Dan Amachree towards the development of the Kalabari ethnic nationality.

The gubernatorial candidate was speaking at a campaign rally in Buguma, headquarters of the Asari-Toru Local Government Area on Monday. Chief Wike lamented that the speaker has failed to usher in the needed infrastructural development into the area.

Chief Wike frowned at the ugly and unsound attitude of Rt. Hon. Dan Amachree for not facilitating the construction of the Trans-Kalabari High way.

The Rivers PDP governorship candidate said, “you have a speaker and they are unable to construct the Trans-Kalabari Road”.

Wike, however promised that as soon as he steps into the Brick House in May 29, 2015, he would ensure the completion of the Trans-Kalabari Link Road in order to open up development in the Kalabari region.

Meanwhile, a prominent youth activist in the Cernorsia Communities in the area, Comrade Ibiso Dick has lampooned speaker Dan Amachree for not putting the interest of the masses at heart.

Comrade Dick predicted that the speaker will fail in his bid to represent the people of the Rivers-West Senatorial District in the Upper House of the National Assembly, because of his attitude, which he said did not go down well with the people of Asalga.

He advised the people of the Senatorial District not to cast their votes for Rt. Hon. Dan Amachree, “because he has nothing to offer.” ###
